Superintendent: No Threat Found After Clearfield Student Discovers “Additional Writing” in School Restroom

CLEARFIELD – “Additional writing” was found near the end of the school day Wednesday at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School, according to Superintendent Terry Struble.

A student made a report to school officials after discovering it in a girls’ restroom. The writing neither indicated dates or a time for any particular action, he stated in a post on the district’s Web site.

Struble added, “Lawrence Township police, [along] with school district officials, in an abundance of caution, did a complete search of the building and have concluded that there is not a threat.”

Because this continues to occur in bathrooms, he said that school district officials will limit the number of restrooms available at the school, effective Thursday.

This, Struble said, will allow for the implementation of “tighter supervision” of who is entering and exiting restrooms. School officials will also check the facilities more frequently.
