Barbara S. “Barb” Mowery, 72, of Ginter died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018 at her home.
Born May 19, 1945 in Burnham, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles B. and Janice E. (Mowery) Johnson.
She graduated from the Curwensville High School in 1964. She worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for seven years.
After that, she transferred to the Fish & Boat Commission for three years prior to her retirement.
She volunteered for Hospice at the Bridge in Lewistown. The most important things to her were her faith in God, studying the Bible, her grandchildren and family, walking and sewing.
She is survived by three children, Thomas (Lisa) Neff of Ginter, Tamatha (John) Domico of State College and Tarla (Martin) Kullgren of Lexington, Mass.; one sister, Mary E. Ehrisman of Mifflintown; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Rebecca, Chelsea, Claire, Curtis, Kyle, Ryan and Bjorn; and one great-grandchild, Elena.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Charla A. Peachy and three brothers, James E. Johnson, Charles C. Johnson and Marc B. Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10 at the Big Valley Bible Church, 139 W. Railroad St., Reedsville, PA 17084.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church.
