James L. Ferguson, 63, of Osceola Mills and formerly of Philipsburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born Feb. 8, 1955 in Philipsburg, he was a son of the late James L. Ferguson and Rachel J. Kelley.

He was a 1973 graduate of the West Branch High School. He received an Associate’s degree in specialized technology from Hiram G. Andrews Center, Johnstown, in 1995.

He retired from Everett School District, where he was a computer technician for 14 years. Previously, he was a truck driver for D&J Maurer Trucking Company for 17 years.

He had a huge love of horses and was a member of the Tom Mix Rangers Horse Club. He was also an avid hunter.

He is survived by two sons, Joseph James Ferguson and his wife, Sheri and Andrew Thomas Ferguson; three sisters, Mary Jane Burke and her husband, Chuck of White Oak, Ruthann Barnes of Sheldon, Iowa and Lisa A. Harris of Virginia Beach, Va.; four brothers, Barry T. Ferguson and his wife, Alice of Somerset, David A. Ferguson and his wife, Jamie of Philipsburg, Michael R. Ferguson and his wife, Iris of South Park and Paul L. Ferguson and his wife, Rejeana of Milwaukee, Wis.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home Inc., Philipsburg. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
