CLEARFIELD – The external lockdown at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School has been lifted, according to a spokesperson with the Lawrence Township police.

CLEARFIELD – A threat of violence against the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School has been proven unfounded.
According to information from the Lawrence Township Police Department, the chief and two officers were called to the high school to investigate reports of threatening graffiti found in one of the school’s bathrooms.
Lawrence Township police, together with a state police K-9 unit, searched the school but found no evidence that the threat was legitimate. As a precautionary measure, the school was put on lockdown while officers and school staff investigated the threat.
Lawrence Township Police Chief Douglas Clark addressed the students during an assembly today in order to discuss the dangers and consequences of making these threats.
“As a district, we wanted to make sure we used an abundance of caution today,” said Superintendent Terry Struble. “We thank the Lawrence Township police and state police for their assistance.”
Struble said school is in session and activities will continue as scheduled.
