Robert R. Ellinger, 82, of Bigler died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Sept. 29, 1935 in Lumber City, the son of the late Ray and Beryl (Straw) Ellinger.

Mr. Ellinger was a conductor for ConRail for 13 years.  Prior to that, he was employed as a truck driver with numerous companies around the Clearfield area.

In his spare time, Mr. Ellinger loved watching Westerns, especially ‘Gunsmoke’ and ‘Bonanza’. He attended the Church of the Nazarene, Philipsburg.

He is survived by his wife, Donna (Williams) Ellinger, and three daughters, Robin Waseleski and her husband, Edward of Hedgesville, W.Va., Laurie Tubbs and her husband, Gregg of Columbia, Md., and Betty Davis of Falls Creek.

He is also survived by six grandchildren, Robert Waseleski and his wife, Jamie, Edward Waseleski, Dylan Tubbs and his wife, Kristin, Evan Tubbs, Rainnee McElwee and her husband, Cody and Kirk Davis and five great-grandchildren, Madilyn and Logan Grace Waseleski and Keith, Cheyenne and Ella McElwee.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Reuben Smeal; his sister, Betty Sample; and a son-in-law, Edgar Davis.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Clearfield Alliance Church with the Rev. Robert Goldenberg officiating.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at the church.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, P.O. Box 550, Clearfield or to the charity of one’s choice.
