Obituary Notice: George E. Kline

George E. Kline, 88, of Houtzdale died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 at his residence.

Born Nov. 10, 1929 in Rossiter, he was the son of John and Anna (Letchus) Kline.

Mr. Kline was a member of the Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale.

He was employed as a track foreman from 1952 until his retirement in 1991 from Penn Central Conrail.

He severed honorably with the U.S. Army during the end of World War II.

On June 20, 1953 in St Barbara’s Catholic Church, he married Barbara A. (Moscollic) Kline, who preceded him in death May 4, 2015.

Mr. Kline is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann (Louis) Sacolick of Beulah and Gloria (Scott) Ohs of State College and seven grandchildren, Heather (Scott) Magill, Colette (Tom) Rodger, Brittany Ohs, Christina Ohs, Bryan Ohs, George Kline III and Andrew Kline.

Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Macee and Conor Magill, Chaisley Rodger and Brayden Kline.

Mr. Kline was the last of his generation. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; a son, George Jr.; a grandson, Jason Sacolick; and siblings, Mary Knight, Joseph Kline, John Kline, Andrew Kline, Margaret Brown and Robert Bergh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, with Father Marc Solomon as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Houtzdale.

Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale.
