William R. “Bob” Kay, 94, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
Born Nov. 23, 1923 in Hawk Run, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary (Daley) Kay.
On Sept. 6, 1952, he married Mary Garnet Harpst in Spring Mills, Pa. She survives at home.
He was a graduate of the Philipsburg High School and Lock Haven University. He was a teacher for the Moshannon Valley and Philipsburg-Osceola school districts. He retired in 1981.
In addition to his wife, he will be deeply missed by a daughter, Cheryl Marsayda of Hazel Township Pa.; three sons, Gregory and Forrest Kay, both of Osceola Mills, and Brett Kay of York Haven, Pa.; and three sisters, Peggy Scottson of Chester Hill and Dorothy Perks and Nancy Knacht, both of Philipsburg.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Alexandra, Benjamin, Michael, Shantelle, Gregory, Shawn and Hunter; three great-grandchildren, Michael, Aislynne and Anthony; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Helen Connors and a brother, Richard Kay.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home Inc., 228 N. Centre St., Philipsburg, with Pastor Elizabeth Stutler officiating.
