Catherine Ann Dotts McDowell, 87, of Clearfield died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018 at her home. She was born Oct. 20, 1930 in Reynoldsville, a daughter of the late Nick and Catherine (Bradenbaugh) Fusco.
She was a graduate from the Reynoldsville High in the class of 1948.
Then, she studied in Philadelphia and came to work at the Clearfield Hospital. She retired after more than 40 years of service.
She was very active in The Presbyterian Church, Clearfield, where she was a deacon for some time.
She was also an avid reader with a love of crossword puzzles, as well as a long-time Steelers and Nittany Lion fan.
She spent her retirement years traveling to visit kids and grandkids and really enjoying those trips throughout her later life.
She volunteered many years with the American Cancer Society and with the Bloodmobile.
She is survived by six children, Karen Auman, Jeff McDowell, Kelly McDowell, Mark McDowell, Brad McDowell and Craig McDowell; 16 grandchildren; some great-grandchildren; a brother, Nick Fusco; a niece, Kelly Fusco; and many cousins and bunches of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Jimmy Hopper officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Joy Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
