Phyllis J. Parks, 79, of West Decatur died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
She was born Jan. 11, 1939, the daughter of the late Elmer and Ida (Wilsoncroft) Lumadue. On July 20, 1957, she married Rexall B. Parks. He survives.
She was a 1956 graduate of the Clearfield Area High School.
She always had a smile on her face and a kind word to say. She could start and carry on a friendly conversation with a total stranger like she had known them forever.
She was a homemaker and she took pride in her home. She was a wonderful cook, gardener and a reluctant part-time farmer.
She had a huge love of flowers and was well-known for having the house at the top of the hill with the white driveway and all the red flowers.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was loved and will be extremely missed by her family and extended family. Her family was her utmost pride and joy, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Rexall B. Parks, and two children, Dwayne and his wife, Karen Parks and Andrea and her husband, Mark Moody, all of Spring Valley.
She’s also survived by three grandchildren, Dustin Parks of Spring Valley, Heather Parks of Slippery Rock and Amber Moody-Woods of Danbury, Texas; and a great-grandchild, Deacon Taylor Woods of Danbury, Texas.
She’s also survived by a brother, Thomas and his wife, Karen Lumadue of Spring Valley; a sister, Judy and her husband, Delbert Wisor of West Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Carol Lumadue.
She was a blessing to all who loved her and she will be truly missed.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
