CLEARFIELD – Jack Rumfola, electrical occupations instructor at the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center (CCCTC), invited alumni student, Scott Beers, to speak to his current class.
Beers was a 2017 graduate of the same class. He is currently a student at Edinboro University in the Power Systems Institute at First Energy program.
Eligible students for this program gain an Associate’s degree and training for a potential job opportunity with Penelec as a lineman.
He talked about how safety is number one every day while learning in the program. One of the handbooks he relies on is the Accident Prevention Handbook (APH). This handbook is crucial when dealing with day-to-day decisions in this line of work.
Beers also showed the students the bag of tools that he was given while attending the program and explained to them that the core skills he learned while a student at CCCTC helped him with the transition into the program.
Beers also spoke to the students about the opportunities he was able to take advantage of after graduating from the electrical occupations program at CCCTC.
