Gregg Bennett, Bucktail Council scout executive, recently thanked Todd Stoltz of Stoltz Family Dealerships and his staff, which sponsored the 49th annual Polar Bear event.
The event is being held this weekend, Jan. 19-21, at Camp Mountain Run in Penfield. Pictured are: Stoltz, Dennis Jasper, Seth Danver, Bennett and Pete Fairman.
According to Bennett, the Polar Bear event is a “team-building exercise” that requires leadership and decision-making skills.
Boy Scouts participate and their skills are put to the test. They will compete in events from knot-tying and fire-building to GPS and much more.
Additionally, scout patrols pull “Klondike” sleds to various competitive stations. From these stations, scores determine an overall winner.
