CLEARFIELD – A 23-year-old Beccaria man, Brian James Miller, has been accused of threatening his ex-girlfriend.
Miller has been charged by Clearfield-based state police with terroristic threats, M1; harassment, M3; criminal mischief, M3; and disorderly conduct, S.
Miller waived his right to a preliminary hearing during centralized court on Wednesday at the Clearfield County Jail. Bail has been set at $100,000.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on New Year’s Day, state police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Electric Avenue in Woodward Township. Miller was allegedly trying to break into the residence.
At the scene, a female told state police she was Miller’s ex-girlfriend and that they have children together. She said she had numerous text messages and missed calls from Miller, who also showed up at her residence yelling and trying to kick the door in.
Miller allegedly told her that he was going to “take everyone out.” The female said she feared for her life at the point. When Miller left her residence, he was driving erratically.
During a two-hour and 15-minute timeframe, Miller called the female approximately 47 times and sent more than 100 text messages. He made comments about harming himself if she didn’t respond, state police said.
Another female corroborated her story. She added that she saw Miller retrieve what appeared to be a black handgun from his truck. He allegedly yelled, “… I have a gun and I will shoot you.”
She also said that Miller made the comment that if police were contacted, he would kill his ex-girlfriend and himself.
