Gregory D. Archer, 60, of Philipsburg died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey.
Born Jan. 17, 1957 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Edward and Sue (Kost) Archer.
He married Linda L. (Segich) Archer on Aug. 14, 1982 in Osceola Mills. She survives at home.
He was a member of the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church.
He was a retired coal miner for the Rushton Mining Co. He was a 1975 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola High School.
He also graduated from the Penn State University in 1977, Mount Aloysius University in Loretto and Clearfield County Career & Technology Center as a state bridge inspector.
He enjoyed woodworking and being with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judith Schory and a brother, Gerald Archer.
Along with his wife, he is survived by two sons, Craig E. Archer of Osceola Mills and Brent M. Archer and his fiancé, Andrea Dubensky of Spring Mills; one sister, Susan E. Schorr of Dauphin; one brother, Ronald E. Archer and his wife, Susan of Houtzdale; and two grandchildren, Hunter Gerald Archer and Brent Michael Archer Jr.
The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church in Osceola Mills, with Pastor Beth Stutler officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Monday at the church.
