Lillian M. Ponzi, 90, formerly of DuBois, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2018 at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.

Born March 27, 1927 in Barnesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Carl and Angeline (Brancato) Monella.

On Sept. 6, 1947, she married Octavio Ponzi. He preceded her in death Feb. 2, 1998.

She was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church and later St. Michael Roman Catholic Church. She was also a volunteer at the DuBois Senior Citizens Center.

Mrs. Ponzi was retired from Rockwell International Manufacturing. Previously, she had worked at McCrory’s Five and Ten and Top Value Stamps Store.

She enjoyed cooking for everyone, especially her family. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother anyone could be blessed with. She was always kind and loved everyone unconditionally.

She is survived by two children – her daughter, Angela Gudalis and her husband, Cas of DuBois and her son, Thomas Ponzi and his wife, Patti of DuBois.

She is survived by six grandchildren, Scott Gudalis and his wife, Cherri, Tammy (Gudalis) Kuntz and her husband, James, Brian Gudalis and his wife, Jenna, Michelle (Ponzi) Lindholm and her husband, David, Corrie Gudalis and Theresa (Ponzi) Puterbaugh and her husband, Jason. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Ponzi; three brothers, Samuel, Angelo and Carl Monella Jr.; and one sister, Dorothy Monella.

Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating. Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery.
