Catherine “Toodie” A. Michael, 91, of DuBois died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017 at Christ the King Manor.
Born Feb. 1, 1926 in Houtzdale, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Kawa) Poskanka.
On Feb. 4, 1950, she married Francis J. Michael. He preceded her in death April 23, 1990.
For many years, she was employed by Jackson China as a print decorator. She later worked at The Courier-Express and Bi-Lo before retiring in 1994.
She was a devout Catholic and a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed camping, gardening and bird watching.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet (James) Plyler of DuBois; sons, Gary (Laura) Michael of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Joseph (Melissa) Michael of DuBois; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Michael of Florida.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Angeline Cheslock and Rose Rokoski, both of DuBois, and Mary Michael of Folcroft, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Michael and four sisters, Anna Cheslock, Martha Michael, Helen Gillis and Violet Phillips.
There will be no public visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
