Obituary Notice: Ann R. (Biros) Gutoski

Ann R. (Biros) Gutoski, 100, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017 at Christ the King Manor in DuBois.

She was welcomed into heaven by her husband, Paul J. Gutoski, to whom she was married in September of 1946, and by her grandson, Paul G. Johnson.

As she now rests in God’s loving arms, she is reunited with her mother, Anna (Stefura) Biros-Duffalo; her fathers, Andrew Biros and Michael Duffalo; brothers, Joseph “PeeWee” Biros and John, Joseph and Carl Duffalo; and sisters, Mary Roseman and Genevieve Nadji, all of whom preceded her in death.

She enjoyed reading the local newspaper and welcomed news of events in the community.

She was a life-long baseball fan. Through the years, she added basketball and football to her viewing list, only recently expanding her interests to include NASCAR.

Well-known for her cinnamon rolls, she excelled at baking.  She spent most of her summers helping her husband, Paul, tend his garden, and she “canned” dozens of quarts of garden produce.

She was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Infant of Prague Society and frequently provided authentic Polish cuisine to the church festival.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Johnson of Pasadena Md., and Paula Noble of Norwood NC; her grandsons, Marty and his wife, Johnda Noble and Jacob Noble; granddaughter, Ann and her husband, Mark Biehl; and four great-granddaughters, Jillian and Jacy Noble and Ava and Hazel Biehl.

Also surviving are her sister, Margaret Carlson of DuBois; her brother, James Duffalo of Texas; and her host of nieces, nephews, friends and admirers from the community of Christ the King Manor and Penn Highlands Hospice Care.

She passes from this world while leaving a legacy of “living the Gospel message”:  Love one another as I have loved you. Care for one another as our Heavenly Father cares for you.”

Burial is private and services will be announced at a later date.
