Reforms expected for National Flood Insurance Program

The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), which was temporarily extended in September, will expire Dec. 8 unless it’s extended again, or reauthorized by Congress. The Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012, passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama in 2012, extended the NFIP for five years and required significant reforms to the program.
