Sue Ellen Pleskonko, 70, of RD Philipsburg died Saturday, Nov.25, 2017 at her residence.
She was born Aug. 15, 1947 in Niagara Falls, NY, a daughter of the late Melvin B. and Inez C. (Mostyn) Chatham. She was of the Catholic faith.
She was a 1965 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School. She then furthered her education and graduated from the former Philipsburg State General Hospital School of Nursing in 1968.
Following nursing school, she began her profession as a registered nurse in California. She then moved back to Pennsylvania to work at several area healthcare facilities throughout the remainder of her nursing career.
These included the former Philipsburg State General Hospital; Centre Community Hospital/Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College; the former Philipsburg Area Hospital; and The Meadows, Centre Hall.
She was married Aug. 17, 1968 in North Tonawanda, NY, to Lynn M. Pleskonko, who survives at home.
She is also survived by two daughters, Marjann Young and Taraleigh Pleskonko, both of Houtzdale, and two grandchildren, Ashley Brady of State College and Peter J. Young of Altoona.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Hogan, in addition to her parents.
She was an avid reader. She also enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, horseback riding and loved animals in general.
There will be no public visitation or memorial service.
