Lawrence Police Report on Aggressive Driving Enforcement

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP ? Lawrence Township police joined with the Pennsylvania State Police and more than 240 municipal police agencies to conduct targeted aggressive driving enforcement from Oct. 23 through Nov. 19.

Police made 81 contacts and issued 56 citations related to aggressive driving during the enforcement period.

The enforcement was focused on behaviors, such as speeding and remaining in the left lane while not passing other motorists.

Motorists who exhibited other unsafe behaviors, such as driving too fast for conditions, following too closely or other aggressive actions, were also cited.

The enforcement was a part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation?s Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project. It?s funded by part of department?s investment of federal funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
