The Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc., in collaboration with Lock Haven University Clearfield, announces an upcoming educational seminar offered through the Clearfield Community Life-long Learning Institute.
Courses are geared towards the interests of the baby boomers and older citizens. Typical sessions will last approximately 90 minutes and will be taught primarily by Lock Haven University faculty and community individuals with specific expertise. All programs will be free, or very low cost.
Do No Harm ? Peaceful Presidential Transitions in the United States
The U.S. Constitution provides for the peaceful transition of power from one administration to another. The focus is on various historical transitions from President Washington to President Trump.
Serving as a model transition of power, the seminar will explore the 1961 transition between President Dwight Eisenhower and President John F. Kennedy.

100 Years of Air Mail in Clearfield County via Stamps
You can join retired physics educator and avid stamp collector, Harvey Haag, Tuesday, Dec. 19, at the Lock Haven University – Clearfield?s Academic Building from 1 p.m. ? 2:30 p.m., as he provides an overview of the history of Clearfield County as told by air mail service and stamps.
Topics will include early trans-continental airmail, the Adams Air Mail Pick-up and commercial air mail aviation.
The seminars are offered at no charge but pre-registration is required. Register by calling the CCAAA at 814-765-2696.
