SANDY TOWNSHIP ? A tractor-trailer crash claimed the life of a 52-year-old Ohio man, Christopher O. Richey, on Thursday.
According to state police at DuBois, the crash occurred at 4:07 p.m. on Interstate 80 eastbound at the exit 101 on-ramp in Sandy Township.
State police say while Richey was traveling on I-80, his tractor-trailer went off the south side of the roadway and across the exit on-ramp.
Then, it reportedly traveled through the guardrails and down an embankment. It continued eastbound until overturning onto its passenger?s side.
Richey was pronounced dead at the scene by Clearfield County Chief Deputy Coroner Kimberly Shaffer-Snyder.
