FRENCHVILLE – Boy Scout Troop 9 members recently participated in a Wilderness Survival Campout near Frenchville.

Assistant Scoutmaster Scott McKenzie instructed the scouts about making shelter from natural materials, edible plants, starting a fire with flint and steel and filtering water from a nearby stream.

The scouts also caught fish with just a stick, string, hook and natural bait. The scouts have started to work on their Wilderness Survival Merit Badge with McKenzie.
