World Kindness Day is Nov. 13

World Kindness Day is Nov. 13. It is a global movement that encourages random acts of kindness; it was first initiated in 1998.

This special day, a complete stranger might pay for your morning coffee or lunch tab. They might buy you a lottery ticket or put some spare change in your expired parking meter.

You might receive a bouquet of flowers from a family member or friend “just because.” A simple note might come in your mail saying “thank you” or “I love you.”

Someone might do something as ridiculously small as hold the door open for an elderly person or for a mother who has her hands full.

A neighbor might prepare dinner or take a couple bags of groceries to an elderly resident in their neighborhood. Or they might take their mail and newspaper inside to them.

This special day, you might also do these things for others. It’s these little small things that make a big difference in other people’s lives.

GANT News would like to honor local people who have touched others by a random act of kindness and spread the joy to its readers this holiday season.

You can share your story in 250 words or less, along with full contact information (name, e-mail, phone number, etc.). Submissions will be accepted through Dec. 20 at news@gantnews.com.
