Briar Andrew Hummel, 18, of Winburne went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, due to asthmatic complications.
Born Aug. 29, 1999 in State College, he was the son of Andrew John Hummel and Roni Sue Balko Hummel.
He was to become a father to his expected son in February of 2018.
Along with his parents, he’s survived by his brother, Jordan Balko and his wife, Tiffaney of Morrisdale and their expected son, Carson; his maternal grandfather, Robert Balko of Hawk Run; and his maternal grandmother, Florence “Flossie” Preece of Morrisdale.
He was preceded by his paternal grandparents, James R. and Ann Pollock Hummel.
He graduated in 2016. He loved riding motorcycles, four-wheeling and hunting. He will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, with Pastor Tina Hawkins officiating.
Family and friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, and again from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service.
Family suggests memorial donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice concerning asthma awareness.
