CLEARFIELD – Donna Collins, Linda Milligan and Tamela Watro from the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 6 are shown presenting Terry Khoury, coordinator of mission advancement and public relations for the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc., with a $200 donation to benefit the Blizzard Box Program.

Every year, the CCAAA sends emergency Blizzard Box meals to homebound older citizens throughout the county.  Consumers are encouraged to keep the meals on their shelf for stormy winter days when the agency cannot deliver a hot meal.

Since 1983, local Rotary Clubs, individuals and businesses have pulled together with the CCAAA to fund this valuable program.  One-hundred percent of all donations are used solely for this program to ensure that homebound older citizens have something nutritious to eat during severe winter weather.

The generous contribution made by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 6 will provide Blizzard Boxes, each containing three meals, to 20 local citizens.  If you would like more information on the Agency or the Blizzard Boxes, please visit www.ccaaa.net or call 814-765-2696.

Programs and services of the agency are funded in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc., Mature Resources Foundation and local and consumer contributions.
