Beatrice E. (Welch) Kukla, 78, of Curwensville died Friday, Nov. 3, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
She was born July 29, 1939 in Hyde, the daughter of the late Floyd “Slim” Welch and Helen (Welker) Welch.
On Nov. 13, 1962, she married John D. Kukla. He died Sept. 3, 2013.
Retired, she had worked for Clear-Care in Clearfield and independently as a nurse’s aide.
She was a member of the Curwensville Alliance Church. She served as the Hemlock Girl Scout leader and unit director for many years.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, puzzles and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her five daughters, Bonnie Emigh and her husband, Wayne of Woodland, Valerie D. Holthouse and her husband, Mark of Clymer, NY, Cherie Bloom of Curwensville, Heather Kukla-Alaverz and her husband, Arthur of Richland, Mich., and Helen A. Miller and her husband, Arthur of Cory, Pa.
She is survived by eight grandchildren, Kirk Bloom, Jennifer Bloom, Cole Holthouse, Elizabeth Bloom, Monica Emigh, Cody Holthouse, Nathan Miller and Amilia Miller and one great-grandson, Ryder Bloom.
She is also survived by four siblings, Shirley White and Kimberly Selfridge and her husband, Bill, all of Clearfield, and Larry Welch and his wife, Gwen and Dorothy Passmore and her husband, Bob, all of Olanta.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandson, Daniel Emigh.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. Friday until the hour of service, which will be held at 3 p.m., at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. John White officiating. Burial will be in Bradford Cemetery.
