The Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc. offers Diabetes Self-Management classes under the leadership of Julie Fenton and Rebecca Shaffer.

This evidence-based program offers six, one-hour sessions on healthy eating, medication, physical activity, action planning, stress management, problem solving, decision making and working with your health care professionals.

The sessions are interactive and participants engage in the process of learning how to build confidence in their abilities to manage health and maintain full, active and fulfilling lives.

Recently 13 consumers graduated the program held at the Mahaffey Center for Active Living and eight consumers graduated a class at the Coalport Center for Active Living.
