Ronald L. Schucker, 81, of Clearfield died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017.

He was born July 5, 1936, the son of the late Harold L. Schucker and Marie (Carson) Schucker.

On Aug. 16, 1959, he married Beverly A. (Coble) Schucker, who died Dec. 21, 1990.

Mr. Schucker was a 1954 graduate of the Clearfield Area High School. He was the owner and operator of Schucker Refrigeration for more than 25 years.

He was also previously employed by Napa Auto Parts and went on to retire from Berg Electronics in the late 1990’s.

He was a life-long attendee of the Kerr Addition United Methodist Church. He was a proud member of the Elks. He served in the U.S. Army.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and camping with his family. He was a fan of blue grass country music, which led to his interest of hosting hoedowns at his house with friends and family.

Mr. Schucker was a skilled woodworker and craftsmen; he was also mechanically inclined. He had developed a high level of skill, becoming the local expert to seek when repairs needed to be done.

He will be remembered for his great sense of humor. 

He is survived by three children, Timothy L. Schucker and his wife, Valerie J. and Denise R. Swatsworth and her husband, Robert D., both of Clearfield, and Gary L. Schucker of Johnstown.

He is survived by seven grandchildren, Matthew Schucker and his fiancée, Alyson Spaid, Rebecca Martin, Corrinne, Grant and Gavin Schucker, David Swatsworth and his wife, Rachel and Derek Swatsworth and his wife, Celest and three great-grandchildren, Christian and Micayla Martin and Blair Swatsworth.

Mr. Schucker is also survived by three siblings, Dorothy Kable of Clearfield, Sandra Daub of Lancaster and Larry Schucker of Rochester, NY and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Grace Jordan Schucker; his siblings, an infant brother, Donald Schucker, Byron Schucker, Ruth Condon and Kenneth Schucker; a step-brother, Ronald Cole; and step-sister, Patricia Fisher.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Mark Brower officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. An additional hour of viewing will be held from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
