Clearfield Superintendent Alerts Local Businesses of Apparent Scam

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area School District is alerting local business owners about an apparent scam.

According to Superintendent Terry Struble, the caller has been contacting businesses and claiming to be a “project coordinator” who is helping to raise funds for the school through advertisements.

“We are not in any way affiliated with this person or outfit,” he said. “From what we are able to determine, it does appear to be a scam.”

When district officials were informed about the calls, they sent a notice to the Clearfield Chamber of Commerce, so that it, too, could alert its members.

So far as his knowledge, Struble said there hasn’t been any local businesses respond by sending money.
