Mary E. Madere, 88, of DuBois died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born Jan. 28, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Tessie (Davis) Aravich.
On July 24, 1954, she married Henry Z. Madere Jr. He survives.
She was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force who had served in the Korean War. She retired from the Brockway Glass Co., after 18 years of service.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. She was also a charter member of Women in the Military.
She is survived by two daughters, Marianne Atkinson and her husband, Richard and Antionette Vanderpool and her husband, Gary, both of DuBois, and a son, Mark Madere and his wife, Doreen of Cleveland, Ohio.
She is also survived by a brother, Robert Aravich of DuBois; a sister, Helen Kester of Seaford, Va.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marcell Paladino and four brothers, Frank, Eugene, Joseph and Vincent Aravich.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
