Robert A. Hanna Sr., 75, of Houtzdale died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017 at Ridgeview Eldercare, Curwensville.
Born Oct. 31, 1941 in Akron, NY, he was the son of the late James and Mabel (Webster) Hanna.
On Sept. 1, 1971, he married Kathryn C (Rowles) Hanna, who preceded him in death Aug. 29, 2015.
He was a member and past master of the Osceola Lodge No. 515, Free and Accepted Masons, Jaffa Shrine Altoona and Houtzdale Loyal Order of Moose No. 327. He was a life member of the Houtzdale Fire Co.
He was employed by Stott Coal Co., Rudd Equipment Co., and Philipsburg State Hospital. He retired from the State Correctional Institution at Houtzdale.
He is survived by his children, Susan (Dan) Sedgwick, Ken Smith, Robert Hanna Jr. and his companion, Laurie, Kris Swatsworth and Ginger Hanna (Donald) Hayward, all of Houtzdale, James Hanna of Texas and Kori Smith (Mike) Lindgren of Florida.
Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a brother, Raymond (Jean) Hanna of Osceola Mills.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a son, Tim Hanna.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Don Smith officiating.
A masonic funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, and it will be followed by the Houtzdale Fire Co. memorial service at 7 p.m. Both will be at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 W. Eighth St., Erie, PA 16505.
