Salvation Army Offering After-School Program

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Salvation Army is offering a free “Ark of Learning” after-school program.

It’s now being held from 4 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. It’s geared toward elementary-aged children; however, teens are welcome to come help out.

The Wednesday after-school program is reserved for tweens and teens who are ages 10-19 years old. It’s held from 3 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Kids and teens enjoy a hot meal at the program. Also, they can get help with homework, do crafts, learn music and dance instruction, as well as have times of free play and fun.

On Thursdays, they can enjoy a scouting program.  Kids are separated by age and gender (similar to girls or boy scouts), and they work on a different topic for about three weeks until they earn their badge.

Both kids and teen groups will have special guests, trips and parties this year.

Salvation Army staff members/volunteers are looking forward to the programs and are also seeking more people to help.

All volunteers will need to pass necessary clearances and receive trainings, as needed.
