Public Invited to View New Art Exhibit at LHU Clearfield

CLEARFIELD – The mixed media art of Anna Marie Toto is now on exhibit at LHU Clearfield, and the public is invited to view.  Toto, a resident of Clearfield, began painting in high school.

After a short break to focus on work, marriage and family, she began taking classes from former Clearfield Artist Ruth Kempner, as well as participating in workshops hosted by the Susquehanna River Arts Center of Clearfield (SRACC).

According to Toto, “The world is a picture waiting to be captured on canvas. It is a wonderful feeling putting my interpretations of what I see into a painting or sketch.”

Her exhibit will be open through Oct. 13 at Lock Haven University Clearfield Campus, Founders’ Hall.

Toto is a member of SRACC, Art in Common (Altoona, Pa.) and the Liddle Gallery. She has exhibited her work at many local venues including CBT, Clearfield Hospital, the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, and the Clearfield YMCA.

She has entered her work in many juried art shows and has twice won best of show in the adult division of the Clearfield County Fair.

LHU Clearfield is proud to partner with the Susquehanna River Arts Center of Clearfield on various exhibits, which are always open to the public.

Different artists will be featured during the exhibits throughout the year. Founders’ Hall is open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Fridays.

Any artists interested in having work displayed may contact Rebecca Ogden at cloverbean@hotmail.com.
