William H. “Bill” Anderson, 75, of Clearfield died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017 at Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after battling heart disease and cancer.

Mr. Anderson was born Feb. 25, 1942, the son of A. Dale and Leona (Holmes) Anderson.

Following a long career of truck driving and dispatching at Clearfield Cheese and Wal-Mart, he retired in 2008.

He enjoyed the little things in life. His favorites were his camping and fishing spot in Kettle Creek and traveling around for the best places to eat.

He enjoyed the Clearfield County Fair week for the food and the harness racing. Watching his grandchildren also brought him great pleasure.

Mr. Anderson was a member of the Clearfield Alliance Church. He was also a member of the Clearfield Eagles Aerie 812.

He is survived by his wife, Ginny L. (Hoyt) Anderson; three daughters, Dawn Shaw and her husband, Tim, Annette Barnes and her husband, Kenneth and Jenna Liegey and her companion, Garrett Samsel; four grandchildren, Rebecca, Jennifer, Leanne and her husband, Trevor Hainsey and Curtis; and eight grandchildren, Christian and Micayla Martin, Aslynn Hancock, Elijah and Cooper Hainsey, Bryce Barnes and Boston and Maddix Samsel.

Mr. Anderson was the last member of his generation. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Clearfield Alliance Church Ministry Center Fellowship Hall with the Rev. Robert B. Goldenberg presiding.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
