Helen Marcinko, who was born Feb. 13, 1926, departed this life for her heavenly home Sept. 11, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Angela Chakan.
She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Marcinko to whom she was married for 51 years.
Mrs. Marcinko was also preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret (Cingle) and Ann (Wiggenhorn) and brother, Edward Chakan.
She leaves to cherish her memories, laughter and love to her children, Edward (JoAnne) Marcinko of Clarence, Karen McKinney of Stormstown, Nancy (John) Zalick of Medina, Ohio and Jill (Bryan) Hall of Grassflat.
She is survived by her brother, Tim (Elizabeth) Chakan; grandchildren, Adam (Melanie) McKinney, Erin McKinney and Ashlee (Rob) Summerson; and great-grandchildren, Caleb, Ashlynn and Dylan McKinney and Evan and Braden Summerson.
Living in Grassflat her entire life, she raised four children who all became the people they are today because of her strength, kindness, compassion and unconditional love.
She had an infectious laugh and her father’s “green thumb” as proven in her love for flowers. She took pleasure in the simple things in life, and never took one day for granted. “Mom” and “Gram” will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A viewing will be from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday in the vestibule of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 130 Indiana St., Grassflat. The Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Grassflat, with Father David J. Perry Jr. as celebrant.
Burial will immediately follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery on Johnson’s Road, Grassflat.
