Teen Accused of Illegally Concealing Firearm While High on Meth Waives Hearing

CLEARFIELD – A local teen has been accused of illegally concealing a firearm while being high on methamphetamine.

Gaige Michael Allen Hubler, 19, of Munson has been charged by Clearfield-based state police with possession of firearm with manufacturer number altered, F2; firearm not to be carried without a license, F3; and public drunkenness.

Hubler waived his right to a preliminary hearing during centralized court Wednesday. His bail was modified from $20,000 monetary to unsecured at his hearing.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Aug. 21, a trooper was dispatched at 8:20 a.m. to an Old Turnpike Road residence in Morris Township.

Hubler was reportedly hallucinating on methamphetamine and carrying a gun around in his front yard.

Upon arrival, the trooper observed Hubler, who was mumbling and who appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance.

Hubler was standing near a Chevrolet Colorado that was completely “disheveled” and “littered with items.”

“It appeared as someone was living out of the truck,” the trooper said in his affidavit. Hubler confirmed that he was and gave consent for the trooper to search it.

The search turned up a .22-caliber revolver; Hubler admitted to being in possession of it.

The gun was allegedly concealed inside a lock box in the front center console, and Hubler does not have a conceal carry permit.

The serial number on the bottom grip of the gun was also painted over with thick, yellow paint, according to the affidavit. It was subsequently seized by the trooper.

Hubler also allegedly admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine.
