Frederick D. Decker, 79, of Edwardsville, Ill., died Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Meridian Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, Ill.
He owned and operated American Nationwide Freight Forwarding in Troy, Ill.
He was a member of the Navy Reserves, and the Edwardsville Masonic Lodge No. 99 Free & Accepted Masons. At one time, he was in the lumber and sawmill business.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James F. and Eva nee Johnston Decker; a sister, Helen Decker Ardary; and a brother-in-law, Fred Mink.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy J. nee McAnulty Decker; a son, Randall (Mary) Decker of Edwardsville, Ill.; and a daughter, Kathryn” Kayde” Carter of Edwardsville, Ill.
He is also survived by five grandchildren, Sean, Erin and Elizabeth Decker and Hannah and Emma Carter; two great-grandchildren, Bailey and Max Decker; a brother, George (Diane) Decker of Stronach, Pa.; a sister, Vera Mink of Harrisburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held Friday, July 7 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, Ill., and officiated by Amy Hess Fulton.
