Carl F. Burfield, 91, of Curwensville died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017 at his home.
He was born Oct. 6, 1925 in Faunce, a son of the late Alden Uriah and Georgianna (Bloom) Burfield.
Mr. Burfield retired from Penn Lines Inc. He also served during World War II as a member of the U.S. Army. He loved spending time with all of his family as well as his dog, Lady.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Elizabeth (Wiley) Burfield and eight children, Steward Burfield and his wife, Sherry of Olanta, Linda Test and her husband, Ken and Elizabeth Queen and her husband, Denny, both of Curwensville, Carol Conklin and her husband, Larry, Sharon Burfield and Susan Warrick and her husband, Sam, all of Clearfield, James Burfield and Mike of Florida and David Burfield and Anita of Lemont.
He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom he dearly loved.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant daughter, Esther Burfield; two sisters, Margaret Showden and Esther Lanager; and four brothers, Athol, Morse, Charles and Elmer Burfield.
At the request of Mr. Burfield, there will be no visitation or funeral services held. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Curwensville Christian Church, 700 State St., Curwensville.
