State police at Philipsburg
- On Aug. 3, state police were placing Brandon J. Koleno under arrest on multiple warrants. However, state police say he fled on foot. He was allegedly ordered to stop running, and warned that he would be tased if he did not. He failed to comply with orders and continued to flee from troopers. He was subsequently tased and taken into custody. Charges were filed against Koleno as a result.
Clearfield Borough
- Lawrence Township police stopped a vehicle and determined the driver had an active warrant through the Clearfield Borough police. Police responded to the scene and the male provided the funds to resolve the warrant.
- Police searched the area of South Third and East Walnut streets after a report about an intoxicated male who had fallen. Police were unable to locate the male.
- Police reported that a female was taken to jail after she allegedly admitted to using illegal substances. She was found to be on probation.
- Police arrested a female for public intoxication after observing her fall, striking a tree. She was allegedly determined to be intoxicated and transported to the jail.
- Police responded to a dispute involving two females on North Fourth Street.
- Police received a report about a vehicle that was being driven all over the roadway along Route 879. It was later located along Spruce Street and unoccupied.
- Police are investigating an alleged theft incident, during which medication was removed from a vehicle while it was parked along Nichols Street.
- Police responded to an alarm at a local business and determined it was false.
- Police assisted emergency personnel with an incident along Spruce Street.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about trespassing in the area of Mount Joy Road.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft that occurred on South Second Street. It remains under investigation.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of someone in the area of the Clearfield-Woodland Highway.
- Police received a report about a fall patient on Plaza Drive. According to police, the male was found to be under the influence; he was cited for public intoxication.
- Police received a report about an alleged burglary on Robinson Avenue. It remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about an unsworn falsification at Rural King. It remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a traffic complaint that occurred on Mill Road.
- Police responded to an activated alarm at a local business on Route 879.
- Police received a report about a psychological emergency on T-Lane.
- Police received a report about the alleged theft of medications in the area of the Budget Inn.
- Police received five, separate reports about alleged retail thefts at the Wal-Mart Supercenter. Charges are to be filed pending investigations.
- Police received a report about alleged disorderly conduct at the Lawrence Park Village.
- Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Daisy Street Extension, which resulted in a warrant service. The person was housed in the county jail.
- Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Routes 879 and 153. Upon making contact, police determined the driver was allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance. Charges are to be filed pending blood test results.
- Police received a report about property damage in the area of Wolf Run Road.
- Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Kwik Fill on South Second Street. It resulted in an arrest for alleged possession of a controlled substance.
- Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of the Sheetz store on Route 879. Upon making contact, it was determined the driver was allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance. Charges are to be filed pending blood test results.
Morris-Cooper Regional
- Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Pardee Road in Morris Township. According to police, a vehicle driven by Janae Kostyak of Osceola Mills was traveling north when it struck a vehicle driven by Cheryl Green of Hawk Run head-on. Kostyak’s vehicle rolled backward in a circle, hitting a residence. Kostyak and her passenger were transported by Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services to the Mount Nittany Medical Center. Green was taken by personal vehicle to MNMC. Police were assisted by Morris Township Volunteer Fire Co. and Folmar’s Garage and Towing.
- Police are continuing their investigation into an incident criminal mischief at Long’s Coal Co. During the incident, suspects allegedly caused approximately $9,000 worth of damage to heavy equipment and removed two CB radios. Police say they do have persons of interest. - Police stopped a Winburne resident for a traffic violation along the Kylertown-Drifting Highway in Cooper Township. Upon investigation, the driver was taken into custody for reasonable suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
- Police reported that a Bryn Mawr resident issued two checks, which totaled $600, to a Lanse resident and which were allegedly returned for non-sufficient funds. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
