Anna H. Schaffner, 89, of DuBois died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017 at Christ the King Manor.
Born Feb. 1, 1928 in Smithtown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late David and Florabelle (Hinderleiter) Hilliard.
She was married to John P. Schaffner, who preceded her death on April 21, 2002.
She retired in administration from the University of South Alabama.
She was born and raised in Falls Creek. She then spent more than 50 years in Mobile, Ala., before returning to the DuBois area.
She was a member of PEO, and she was a volunteer at the Mobile Museum of Art.
She is survived by one son, Samuel J. Schaffner and his wife, Audrey of Ringwood, NJ and one grandson, Leo L. Schaffner.
She was preceded in death by one brother, James Hilliard and one sister, Delores Shindledecker.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc.
Private funeral services will be held. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
