Pauline J. Bennett, 86, of Curwensville died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017 at her residence.
Born Nov. 26, 1930 in Hepburnia, she was the daughter of William Clyde and Alice Pauline (Spencer) Johnson.
Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker. She had also worked as a secretary for PennDOT and Jim’s Sports Center, and she was the owner/operator of the former Village Shoppe in Clearfield.
She was a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church, where she helped out with the annual “Search for Peace” pageant.
She was named the Curwensville Rotary Club’s “Citizen of the Year/Service Above Self” recipient in 2014.
She was a volunteer for both the Penn Highland Clearfield Hospital Hospice and Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
On Aug. 27, 1950, she wed William H. Bennett, who preceded her in death July 9, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are three daughters, Lauri Schall and her husband, Stanley, Lana Morgan and her husband, Patrick and Letta McDonald and her husband, John, all of Curwensville.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren, David Schall, Ryan Schall, Brent Morgan, Lindsey Morgan, Alex Morgan, Brian McDonald and Leanna McDonald and seven great-grandchildren, Mikayla Warren, Mason Warren, Matthew Schall, Nikita Schall, Alexander Schall, Connor Morgan and Ralie Morgan.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with the Rev. Ethan Shearer officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Curwensville.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
