Diana Lee English (Confer) died peacefully Monday, July 24, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

Born Dec. 31, 1934 in Clearfield, she was the first-born daughter to Richard Beaman and (Anna) Pearl Dale Confer.

She enjoyed a life filled with the passion of music, including more than 70 years participating in musicals, minstrel shows, choirs and the Clearfield Choral Society. At one point, she was asked to sing with a 1950’s well-known Big Band.

Her beautiful soprano voice graced many and brought her immense joy. She was a voracious reader and often completed three novels in one week.

Although a surprise to her family, she became an avid sports enthusiast who loved the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers and Penn State football.

A life-long member of the St. John Lutheran Church, she greatly appreciated her church community and volunteered in many roles.

She loved her few, but rich travels to various states, towns and her dream vacation to Ireland.

She embraced a hard work ethic and was employed by Clearfield Hospital and Harbison Walker Refineries. She retired from American General Life Insurance.

Her greatest pleasures in life were simple: a meal shared with a friend after church, a show at the local CAST, a movie with her daughters, family picnics and many Fullington bus trip endeavors.

She loved all time spent with her family – her children, grandchildren, sisters and her kindred life-long friends.

Although quiet in nature and small in stature, her will and fortitude in life were large, carrying her through a recent and difficult illness with grace and strength.

With few words but deep conviction, she faithfully cared for and loved her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Pearl Confer; her brother, Gerald (Jerry) Confer; her husband, Glenn English; and former husband, Herbert Roseberry.

Surviving are her sisters, Elaine Hilleman (Richard) of California and Janet Donahue (Louis) of Curwensville; her son, Stephen Roseberry of Wilcox; and her daughters, Karen Roseberry of Clearfield and Christine Roseberry-Belinda (Robert) of State College.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Megan Roseberry, Stephen Roseberry Jr. (Eliza), Shinee Roseberry (Phillip), Casher Belinda and Anna Pearl Belinda; great-grandchildren, Robert Enoch Jr., Deangolo and Antonio Roseberry and Avianna Grace Connole; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home, with the service immediately following with the Rev. Robert J. Way officiating.

Contributions may be made in memory and honor to St. John Lutheran Church, 217 E. Pine St., Clearfield, PA, 16830 (814-765-32510) and to the Curwensville Public Library.

Online remembrances can be made at www.bennettandhouser.com or www.mem.com.
