Roger Leon Selfridge, 82, of Glen Richey died Thursday, July 20, 2017 at his home in Clearfield. He was born the son of Nancy (Hampton) and Leon Selfridge.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn (McGarvey) Selfridge, to whom he was wed Feb. 13, 1954 in Clearfield.  

He is survived by his daughters, Cindy Margeson of Harrisburg and her husband, Duffy and Sandra Lomax of Nova, Ohio and his sons, Jeff Selfridge and his significant other, Doreen Cressler of Hyde and Stephen Selfridge of Clearfield.

He is also survived by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nephews, P.D. Beish, Gregory Beish, Bob Selfridge, Ron Selfridge, Randy Bloom and Guy Bloom and special friends, Carl and Lucy Bloom.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Phyllis Beish and Judy Bloom and brothers, Robert and Neil.

He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union-Local 12, the Clearfield Alliance Church and a founder and senior member of the family “Camp ’66.”

His occupation was a sheet metal journeyman. He was a graduate of the Clearfield Area High School in the class of 1953.

His hobbies included golfing, hunting, fishing, being a fixer-upper/handyman and spending time with family. He was also an avid outdoorsman. 

He was a man greatly loved by his family and a Godly man who lived his faith.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. R. Johnson and Dr. D. Yingling and the wonderful nurses at Penn Highlands Clearfield and and hospice.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Clearfield Alliance Church with the funeral service immediately following.

Officiating will be the Rev. Robert B. Goldenberg and the Rev. Hiram Westover.  Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, LaJose.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Clearfield Alliance Church’s Great Commission Fund.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Reed Funeral Home, Houtzdale.
