Carol Lee McNab, 57, of Katy, Texas died Monday, July 17, 2017 in Katy, Texas.
Mrs. McNab was born Nov. 4, 1959 in Lock Haven, the daughter of John L. and Patricia L. (Rote) Shobert.
She was a graduate of the Clearfield Area High School in the class of 1977 and the Pennsylvania State University in the class of 1981.
Shortly after graduation from Penn State, she moved to Houston, Texas to begin her teaching career.
Mrs. McNab was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church of Clearfield.
She met the love of her life, Ronald McNab, while they both taught together at Petrosky Elementary in Alief ISD.
After working as both a fourth- and first-grade teacher, she decided to work closer to home at Williams Elementary in Katy ISD, where she continued to teach first-grade and was also a reading specialist.
She was a passionate and dedicated teacher who loved combining science and technology as well as reading and the arts into her curriculum.
She is survived by her mother of Clearfield; her husband, Ronald McNab, to whom she was married Dec. 29, 1984; three children, Kurtis, Katherine and Kelly McNab; a brother, Bryan L. Shobert and his wife Pennelope of Clearfield; a niece, Megan Shobert; and a nephew, Michael Shobert.
She was preceded in death by her father, who died Nov. 4, 2008.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc., of Clearfield with Pastor Tom Young officiating. Burial will be at Crown Crest Memorial Park.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the West Side United Methodist Church, 317 Nichols St., Clearfield, PA 16830 or the Katy ISD Education Foundation in her honor.
