Raymond William Clancy, 82, of Niagara Falls, NY died Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Buffalo, NY.
Born Oct. 7, 1934 in Houtzdale, he was the son of Chester and Beatrice (Peck) Clancy.
He was of the Catholic faith. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was employed as a millwright at the Union Carbide Acheson Plant in Niagara Falls, NY until his retirement.
He enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as farming and gardening. He also took pride in his coal mining collection.
He was a member of the Stephen Kandrach Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6321, Smithmill.
On Sept. 20, 1958, he married Frances (Cervenak) Clancy, who survives in Niagara Falls, NY.
Along with his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Alan) Stevens and Tina (Tim) Young; a son, Mark (Sue) Clancy; five grandchildren, Bryan and Julie Stevens, Daniel and Kevin (Kelley) Young and Rachelle (Nick) Clark; and three great-grandchildren, Haylee Stevens and Shaianne and Alana Clark.
Also surviving are a brother, Paul (Pat) Clancy of Houtzdale and a sister, Mary Carol (Gene) Burchill of Mansfield, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, with Father Zab Amar as celebrant.
Family and friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale.
Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Brisbin, with graveside military honors accorded by the Houtzdale America Legion Honor Guard.
