Goshen Road Bridge Re-opened with Improved Posting

GOSHEN TOWNSHIP – With repair work complete, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has re-opened a bridge on Route 1006 (Goshen Road) in Clearfield County.

The detour that had been used during the work has been lifted. The bridge spans Lick Run in Goshen Township, about two miles north of Clearfield.

Through late last week, crews from Clearfield County PennDOT Maintenance worked to replace the deck of the bridge and repair beam ends.

Completion of the repairs allows PennDOT to re-post the bridge for its previous weight limits of 32 tons for single vehicles and 39 tons for combination vehicles and eliminate the most recent 3-ton posting.

The bridge was originally built in 1971, is 43 feet long and carries an average of 220 vehicles daily.
