CLEARFIELD – A Glendale Area School District student has taken a tour of the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County (CAC-CC) as well as the Clearfield County Courthouse.

According to District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr., Cen-Clear, the CAC-CC sponsor, has partnered with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) to provide pre-employment transition services.

Cen-Clear provides group services focusing on independent living skills, self-advocacy training, workplace readiness training, job shadowing and work-based learning experience.

Shaw says the student was taken for a tour of the CAC-CC and the Clearfield County Courthouse with a member from the Victim Witness program.

According to him, the student has expressed interest in the field of criminal investigation, prosecution and advocacy.  She was provided information about criminal investigations, prosecutions of criminal investigations, victim advocacy and the college degrees required for each field.

“It was a pleasure meeting with this student and introducing her to the types of professions that can be a part of criminal investigations,” Shaw says.
