Robert Allen Puit, 73, of Glen Richey went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born Dec. 24, 1943 in Clearfield, he was the son of the late Charles and Martha Harris Puit.
On June 29, 1968 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Clearfield, he married Linda Lee Hawkins Puit, who survives in Glen Richey.
Along with his wife, he is survived by a grandson, Andrew Robert Puit of Glen Richey; a daughter-in-law, Diana Gray Puit of Glen Richey; and a nephew, Charles Poole and his wife, Carrie of Madera.
He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Ann Coats and her companion, Jack and Violet Lefebvre and her husband, Joseph, all of Lockport, NY, Dolly McGee and her companion, James of Woodland, Rose Patterson of Clearfield and Sara Poole and her husband, William of Glen Richey and brothers, Darrell Woods and his wife, Joyce of Brisbin, Charles Puit and his wife, June of New Millport, William Puit of Curwensville and John Puit of Lockport, NY.
He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Allen Puit Jr. and an infant brother, James Puit.
Mr. Puit was a 1962 graduate of the Clearfield High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navel Reserves and a former member of the VFW Post 842, Curwensville.
He was a charter and life member of the Glen Richey Fire Co., and he was also in the fire police in his earlier years. He was a member of the Rescue Hose and Ladder Co., Curwensville.
He worked various jobs in Lockport, NY and surrounding areas but retired from the former Howe’s Leather Co., Curwensville, after 38 years.
He loved to sit on his front porch and wave to his many friends. He loved hunting, fishing and going to camp, especially with his grandson. He also loved to play bingo.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Glen Richey Fire Hall, with the Rev. Carol Gathagan officiating. Burial will be in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville RD.
