Clinic/AWC to Hold Annual Plant, Yard Sale

WOODLAND – The Allegheny Spay & Neuter Clinic/Animal Welfare Council will hold its annual plant/yard sale and rabies clinic on July 8. This year, there will also be a fair with more than 20 vendors to support the clinic.

The vendor fair and plant/yard sale will be held from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The rabies clinic will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The event will be held at the Allegheny Spay & Neuter Clinic, 1380 Shawville Hwy., Woodland (beside the Woodland Post Office). There is plenty of parking available for visitors.

There will be a tractor-trailer full of yard sale items, as well as numerous plants, including perennials, herbs, shrubs, house plants, etc. Vendors will offer pet items, jewelry, hand-crafted items and more.

Many donations of yard sale items and plants have been received already and are still welcome up until the day of the event. Anyone who would like to donate should call 814-857-5280.

There will also be a chance auction and 50-50 raffle with donated prizes to benefit needy animals.  All vendors are welcome, and anyone interested in setting up a table should call for more information.

There will be food available for purchase, including pulled pork, brisket, pierogies, homemade soups, halushki and baked goods.

New “Be Kind to Animals” T-shirts, designed by area youth, and 2017-18 Animal Welfare Council membership discount cards will be available for a $10 yearly membership fee.

The cards offer discounts for local businesses and restaurants that are effective through May of 2018.

The public is invited to become members of the Animal Welfare Council and to purchase the membership discount card to support area needy animals.
