CLEARFIELD – Following some simple guidelines can prevent problems with new swimming pools.
At Tuesday’s Lawrence Township Supervisors meeting, Code Enforcement Officer Debra Finkbeiner said with summer being here, some residents are installing swimming pools.
Finkbeiner said anyone who is putting in a swimming pool must get a permit first. The swimming pools must comply with the regulations in the Uniform Construction Code before the pool can be used.
Finkbeiner also said that all township residents must cut their grass and maintain their properties.
She encouraged the residents to take their grass clippings and other yard waste to the compost site on Mann Road. She said many residents opt to burn their yard waste and she receives several complaints.
She said anyone burning yard debris can be cited under the township’s nuisance ordinance.
Finkbeiner said if the fire is large enough, and the residents do not inform Clearfield County Control of a controlled burn, they can also be issued a citation.
